Our product range consists of various lock solutions customized to meet the individual needs of each patient. Containing 500 IU/ml of heparin, TauroLock™-HEP500 is designed to minimize occlusion rates during dialysis treatment.
Indication and Effect
TauroLock™-HEP500 can be used with venous vascular access devices. It is especially recommended for use with hemodialysis catheters. This lock solution prevents the formation of bacterial biofilm: Thus, patients are protected against catheter-borne infections and a high catheter opening (patency) rate is maintained.
Composition
TauroLock™-HEP500 consists of three active ingredients:
Taurolidine
Heparin (500 units per ml)
Citrate (%4)
TaurolidineIt possesses broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (including MRSA and VRE) as well as fungi (e.g., Candida). Heparin and citrate It prevents blockages (occlusions) within the catheter.
